If I run the latest version of the Wizard (1.16), after getting other things set up, then later...

I came back and just ran the Wizard to change the Mode setting by marking the "Short Cmd Mode (OOPIC)" option and then clicking Apply... After that, when I turned of the WheelCommander and later turned it back on the servos started running right away in opposite directions.

I could not connect to it from my computer (using RS-232 serial) with the Wizard anymore. Fortunately, I could manage to get a micro controller set up and programmed to connect to it via I2C and check/change the Mode register setting back to the default of 128 decimal (80h, which, by the way, is incorrectly listed as 88h in the produce manual on page 12).

When I had it hooked up via I2C and checked the Mode register value I found that it had a value of 52 decimal (34h). That means it not only turned on bit 2 (Short Mode), but it had also turned on bits 5 and 6 (LockedAntiphase and DualDirLines/HighEnable), while at the same time turning off bit 7 (CounterAxis).

I have no idea why it causes the serial connection to no longer be usable, but I found that even if I properly change the Mode register (via I2C) to 132 (bits 2 and 7 on, others all off)... then the serial connection for using the Wizard also will not work.

Even though I am not using an OOPIC, I want to be able to turn of the Command Echo when using I2C, but I still also want to be able to connect serially with the Wizard to check/alter things at various times.

Can you fix this?

Regards,
Milt
